Abstract This thesis focuses on design and construct of a simple and accurate current – voltage measuring circuit for various types of photovoltaic modules to measure the I-V characteristics of PV generators in the field. It uses a developed electronic load to get more accurate data for the PV generators under test. The electronic load depends mainly on power metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET). The electronic load at PV module terminal can be controlled by a varying DC control signal applied at the Gate ــ Source terminal of the MOSFET (VGS). Moreover the scanning voltage (VGS) is achieved in a simple and smooth innovative way from open circuit to short circuit values in order to improve the I-V tracing via an output of the digital to analog card (DA) of a data acquisition system (DAQS) depending on the applied software parameters. The measured data as solar radiation, module temperature, module current and module voltage taken via a data acquisition system. |
