Abstract

The south eastern Mediterranean Sea in-front of the Egyptian coast needs more studies to shed more lichts on the seasonal variability of its hydrographic structure. More thon percent of the southern shelf of the Fastorn Mediterrancan sea lies in the Egyption water as a Wile This fan is approximately Km wide opens out to a depth meter on the western end and meter on the east the continontal shelf width usually not more than except off the Nile Delta where the meter contour is offshore. One of the most important features of the circulation patterns of the southeast sector of the Mediterranean Sea before was the effect of the annual Nile flood. as a result of the storage of water behind the Aswan Mich Dan Since the nutrient budget, the biological economy, water circulation and hydrographic conditions have beon greatly modified. Furthermore, the sediment load carried by the Wile during the flood season, has now been reduced. Since the erect jon of the High Dem, almost no sediment uas deen dischansea from the Mile, creating instability and making the entire .
