Abstract
The river Nile has been used, since carly tines source of water, fish food and for navigation, result of the rapid increase in the population density more attention has been given by the authorities for the proper exploitation of the Comtry’s natural water resources for power plant cooling, irrigation, domestic and industrial uses, Control dems have been constructed for the better and efficient utilization of this vital resource, Pollution from point sources such as urban or Andustrial outfalls -is comming, ingeneral, under Progvessively better control, whereas the pollution from diffused sources, such as the runoff from agricultural lend end waste water from innumerable villages, remains largely uncontrolled and is on the increase along the river, This trend is closely interconnected and largely reflects on the nature end Limttation of ambient pollution control requirenents, The disposal of domestic and industrial waste waters into lakes and rivers creates a great problem for the modern Egyptien community, In particular the sewage water of cities and villages located on both banks of the area under study, Before the High Dan construction at Aswan in and the control of ‘the Nile flood, the domestic sewage and runoff discharged.
