Abstract This thesis includes three main chapters the first one is the introduction which is a general review of the syntheses of substituted pyrazolines oxadiazoles and thiadiazoles the second chapter is the discussion which describes the work carried out by the candidate it includes three parts in the first part the candidate prepared a series of ethy 1 3(5)-aroy-4-ary 1-2pyrazolone-5(3)-carboxylates 189 194 by condensation of ethy diazoacetate with the appropriate a b unsaturated ketone treatment of pyrazolines (190-194)with nitrous acid gave the corresponding n-nitroso derivatives(195-199) while their oxidation with bromine water afforded the corresponding pyrazole derivatives 200-204) the n-nitrosopyrazole derivatives (205-208)were obtained by the bromine water oxidation of the corres ponding n-nitrosopyrazolines (200-203) however treatment of pyrazoline derivatives (190,192 and 193) with potassium permanganate resulted in the formation of ethy1 4- arypyrazole- 5(3) carboxylate derivatives (209-211). |
