Abstract The aim of the present investigation is the study of the phytoplankton and zooplankton populations of Leke Bdku and the inflowing drains, in relation to the local environmental conditions.Lake Edim, as it appears today, is the smallest of the three shallow Egyptian Delta lekes which have a direct connection to the Mediterranean Sea, namely; Leke Menzalah, Lake Burollus and Lake Balu. The lake is directly connected with Abu-Kir Bay at the western extremity through a narrow channel, called Boughaz El-Maadiya. |
