Abstract Orange is one of the most important crops in the world including Egypt. Several plant pathogens attack orange fruits causing serious diseases such as blue mold caused by Penicillium expansum Link. Control of blue rot still relies mainly on the use of synthetic fungicides such as imazalil. However, appearance of fungicide-resistant strains and increasing public demand to reduce the use of pesticides has stimulated the search for alternative control methods. Thus, this study was undertaken to investigate the fungicidal potential of Ricinus communis, Acalypha marginata, Delonix regia, Ocimum basilicum,Lantana camara, Psidium guajava and Eucalyptus camaldulensis against blue mold caused by P. expansum in Valencia orange fruits. |
