Abstract Primary failure remains a major issue in the post–Fistula First era. Complications from AVF placement must be considered when planning AVF placement. Our data demonstrate that artery size is the main predictor of AVF patency. Regarding the collected results of the present work the following recommendation can be suggested: o It is highly recommended to follow-up the course and the outcome of AVF with monitoring of its standard parameters. Survival rate and lifespan of each AVF is a challenging job that need more attention and more effort to improve it. Further studies with larger sample size and more controlled variables are needed to estimate the failure rate of AVF and its major potential predictors. |
