Abstract
The experiment was carried out during agricultural summer season of 2014 at the Experimental Farm of Research Station, El-Gemmiza,Gharbiya Governorate. The overall aim of this study was to manufacture and evaluate a double purpose unit for weeding and fertilizing suitable for small farms. The double purpose unit was evaluated at four different forward speeds (2.2, 2.8 and 3.4, and 4 km/h), at three levels of adding fertilizer (30, 45 and 60 kg/fed), two different fibers crops (Kenaf and Roselle). The depth of weeding and fertilizing was about 5 cm and soil moisture content was about 20 %. The manufactured unit was evaluated taking into consideration the following indicators: fuel consumption,
