Abstract
Egypt’s coastal zone bordering the Mediterranean Sea represents particularly important economic, industrial, social, ecological, cultural, and recreational area. The vast majority of the coastal area of Egypt suffers from increasing natural stress (erosion, subsidence and the potential rising of sea level) and anthropogenic influences caused by population growth and increasing development.
