Abstract Menopause is considered as one of the female reproductive life events facing women in their midlife. It is a depletion of ovarian function followed by a cessation of menstruation and is associated with many medical conditions that affect women health. Menopause is a transitional developmental period in women’s life and an essential part of reproductive health care. It occurs usually between the ages of 45 and 52 years but may vary;the mean age of the menopause in Egypt is 46.7 years The aim of this study was to improve the care provided to middle-aged women through menopause transition by assessing the the prevalence of self-reported menopause related symptoms at various stages of natural menopausal transition and evaluate their effects on quality of life A cross-sectional study was carried out inEL_Nahal primary health care center in Sharkia governorate; Participants were randomly selected as the fifth woman from all women in age extending from 40-55 years attending the health care unit from the period of July 2013 to December 2013. The tools used in this study were Self- administration Questionnaire which divided into three parts: oPart1: Demographic Data o Part2: Clinical data and menstrual history o Part3: Common menopause symptoms based Climacteric Scale and its impact on Quality of life Questionnaire. |
