Abstract Many different types of dyes were prepared based on pyrazolopyridazine moiety which may in turn used in many different appliocations not only as disperse dyes but also metal-complex dyes, reactive dyes, and azoic dyes. The treatment of 3-diazo-4,5-diphenylpyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridazine with different active methylene compounds, ”cyclic, acyclic”, aromatic amines, cyclic amines, and phenols in ethanol with stirring yielded different colored azodyes. Azodyes of 3-diazo-4,5-diphenylpyrazolo [3,4-c]pyridazine also were prepared via first reacting the cyanoacetichydrazide with aromatic aldehyde such as benzaldehyde, o-chlorobenzaldehyde, p-nitrobenzaldehyde and p-N,N-dimethylbenzaldehyde in ethanol containing few drops of piperidine. Coupling of the condensation aceto-acetic hydrazide product with 3-diazo-4,5-diphenylpyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridazine. On the other hand, Disazo dyes were prepared by the diazotization of 3-amino-4-((4,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridazin-3-yl)diazen-yl)-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one, via nitrosyl sulfuric acid method followed by coupling with β-naphthol, ethyl cyanoacetate, and ethyl acetoacetate. Metal dye complexes were also prepared from 1-((4,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridazin-3-yl)diazenyl)naphthalen-2-ol with copper and cobalt salts. Some of the prepared azo disperse dyes were applied to polyester fabric, and their spectral and color fastness properties measured which reflect in general the good dyeing behavior of such dyes . |
