Abstract
Urginia maritima L. is a desert plant which is widely distributed
arround the Mediterranean reRion of Africa. Asia. and Europe. In Egyptit is found mainly in Maktala area. about 110 len west of Matruh. It has three bulb colour forms: white. red and whitish red and is distributed in three different habitats: maritime rocky plateau. Inland dunes and the
transitional area between these two habitats.
