Abstract This study was carried out at the Experimental Farm and Biotechnology laboratory of the Rice Research and Training Center (RRTC), Sakha, Kafr El-Sheikh Egypt during the four growing seasons of 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Eight vegetative traits and six yield ones were measured in twelve different rice genotypes with different stem borer status. The objectives of the present investigation were to: 1. Evaluate the striped stem borer resistance in some rice genotypes and identify possible correlations of insect resistance with morphological and agronomic characteristics of the plants. 2. Study the inheritance of some vegetative traits, stem borer and yield and its components 3. Study the genetic diversity and association of SSR markers with rice stem borer resistance. The obtained results could be summarized in the following points: Field Evaluation |
