Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color stability of the tested types of all ceramic materials after they had been subjected to accelerated ageing technique.
Sixty ceramic discs were constructed in this study. Samples were divided into two main groups according to the type of ceramic material used. Group (Zr); Translucent Zirconium ceramic and Group (E.max); IPS Empress II {thirty samples for each}.Then each group was subdivided into two subgroups according to type of resin cement used {fifteen samples for each}
Finally each subgroup was further divided into three classes {5 samples for each} according to the type of media which it was subjected in.
The first class in each subgroup was not subjected to any testing procedure (control group).
The second class in each subgroup was subjected to thermocycling.
The third class was subjected to immersion in fluids then thermocycling.
After each step, the samples colors were measured.
All data collection were tabulated and statistically analyzed.
Data were collected, tabulated and statistically analyzed with the following conclusions:-
Within the limitation of this study :-
(1)Thermocycling test had no significant effect on the color stability of all groups ∆E< 0.5
(2)Testing solutions significantly influenced the color change in all groups. Thermocycling after testing solutions increased the discoloration but with least effect.
(3)The color stability of e.max press luted with Multilink Speed was superior to Zr ceramic luted with Multilink.
(4)Generally, Multilink Speed resin cement give the better results regarding the color stability in both ceramic.
