Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of
two esthetic fiber posts namely; white and translucent, at different root
levels (cervical, middle and apical third) by using different adhesive resin
cementation techniques; total etch, self adhesive and self adhesive with
acid etching. The dislodged posts were examined microscopically to
evaluate the mode of failure.
The investigated hypotheses were:
1. The retention of translucent fiber post would be higher than the
white (non translucent) fiber post.
2. The use of acid etching before application of self adhesive resin
cement may increase its bond strength.
3. The coronal third of the post may have higher bond strength
followed by middle and apical thirds.
