Abstract from the obtained results, it could be concluded that, EAC induction in female mice caused significant changes on blood content and its parameter as there was a potential decrease in serum glucose which is considered as the most important metabolic biomarker ,while it affected serum lipids profile (total cholesterol, triacylglycerol , high density lipoprotein cholesterol, very low density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol) by increasing its levels during most times of experiment, at the same level there was a potential increase in serum tumor markers levels (carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), alpha feto protein (AFP) and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) . The results reported suggested that, treatment by administration of C. speciosus was able to convert this increase in different types of tumer markers levels (AFP , CA 19-9and Sometimes CEA levels) to low levels and helped in decrease concentrations of different parameter of lipogram in almost times of experiment (Total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, very low density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol) . In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that, C. speciosus rhizomes as a dietary supplementation provided a tumor protection and cancer treatment and has a potent chemo-treatement activity against a wide variety of tumors, since C.speciosus rhizomes and its main conistituent diosgenin were able to ameliorate serum biochemical parameters and prevent cell apoptosis, inhibit cell proliferation and antioxidant activity. On the other hand, C. speciosus still need more research discussing the effect of its dose and period of treatment to reach to its ideal and optimum effect. |
