Abstract This work aims to study the anti-cancer effect of some herbs in advanced liver cancer. This study was conducted initially on six of ten cases where fifteen of them was the case of males and one female. After that was full of forms from fifteen case of males, one of them has apologized and did not continue with me in this study, only thirteen cases of male and one female women either did not fill out the forms to them. As for the place of study was in the Oncology Institute of the Faculty of Medicine, Menoufia University in the period from December 2012 until December 2013. The case study was competent patients who are not undergoing chemotherapy or surgical removal of any cases it is very advanced disease. The exclusion criteria were: patients with primary malignant tumors of the second . I have been using four types of herbs in this study specific doses are as follows: 60 grams of burdock. 40 grams of the root Sorrel 10 grams of the bark of the slippery elm 2.5 grams of rhubarb root where they were mixing these herbs ratios mentioned above after 122 summary 122 crushed and packaged in bags of plastic pure white on the grounds that this dose be enough for a week, taking into account the lack of exposure to light or sunlight so as not exposed to oxidation and the patient to boil a cup of water and put it on a tablespoon of this the mixture is equivalent to nearly 8 grams of it and be covered for a period ranging between 10:15 minutes and be taken on an empty stomach before eating a meal two hours so as not to react with these herbs Or other drugs food once in the morning and again in the evening. The study included - Evaluation of treatment and physical examination, liver enzymes, bilirubin, renal function tests and complete blood picture and this monthly during the treatment period. - Abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and CT examination of the chest if suspected lung metastases. The bones were examined in the case of suspected malignant tumor of bone. • patient characteristics were collected following: Age, sex, weight, height and surface area, and body mass index • The data were collected from the patient through the use of a form or questionnaire on health status and socio-economic status and dietary habits of the patient as well as the recovery of used food 24 hours. • disease characteristics were collected following: A number of the tumor (single or multiple), localization (localized or metastatic), and history of hepatitis, and the state of the portal vein prior history of sorafenib (nexavar) or chemotherapy. The result of the following search 123 summary 123 1 - There was no significant correlation between the response to treatment and the average age of the patients, body mass index, BSA, and the maximum diameter of the tumor. 2 - Health History: In terms of the cause of the disease - yellowing of the eye - Sickle - change the color of urine - tumor legs - Loss of appetite - surgery - weight loss - exercise - taking supplements - parasites - the number of hours of sleep, and also hours watching television . The results showed the following Average between health status and the percentage of patients Discerned from the foregoing that the averages for each of you a hereditary disease - tumor legs - yellowing of the eye color - change the color of urine - weight loss - loss of appetite - anemia - surgical - and the presence of schistosomiasis - exercise - taking supplements were percentages of them in a row [6.7% - 20% - 73.3% - 53.3% -33.3% - 73.3% - 66.7% - 40% - 73.3% - 13.3% - 66.7%], respectively . 3 - the study of social and economic situation: In terms of the place of residence - Educational Status - Occupation - Marital status - the number of family members - the number of rooms in the house - the economic situation - the total monthly income - the proportion of the outgoing food - the number of daily meals. The results showed the following As for the social and economic situation has been found that the average stay in the countryside - who have a college degree - the number of 124 summary 124 rooms of the house three rooms - the economic situation Medium - outgoing food - Marital Status [66% - 20% - 53.3% - 53.3% - 60% - 100%], respectively . The study also included and the averages and standard deviations of nutrients. 4-Mean and stander deviation of water, energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber and ash. It can be noticed that the calorie intake by healthy individuals were less than recommended food (DRI) allowances (82% of DRI) (Table11). The percentage of protein intake was very low for sick group, total protein, animal protein, plant protein were (77.48%, 14.8, 197.6%) of recommended allowance of kind of disease . As for fat that this group consumed fat lower the recommended and the high amount was plant fat source. Carbohydrate, water and fiber intake of sick group were lower the recommended intake. 5 - Mean and stander deviation of calcium, Phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium, zinc, and magnesium. With respect to rates of metals eat healthy individuals and patients, which represent in the table (12), and can be seen that the daily consumption of calcium was lower than the level, DRI samples test, but it was lower for sick requirements. Daily intake of potassium was lower than the standard, R.DA for tested samples and it was lower for sick group 24.6% 125 summary 125 As for iron total ,total iron 65.8%, animal iron 5.3% and plant iron was 182.7% of DRI. 6-Mean and stander deviation of vitamin (A, C, D, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, niacin and folate. It is clear that the daily intake in all vitamins was lower for sick individuals, except vitamin B2 higher in sick group(Table 13). Both vitamin D and A intake lower than standard for tested sample, vitamin D (3.8 and 53.5%), and vitamin C (48.5%) for sample group respectively. 7 - the study of the nutritional status: where the method was used retrieving food 24 hours for two days were analyzed foods by a computer program for analysis of food, which has been through it to reach a relationship between health status and nutrients big and small, and the relationship between Alhalhalajtmaih, economic and nutrients big and small, and the relationship between nutritional status and nutrient major and lo and emerged through the study that there is a correlation statistically significant at the level of * = (p <0.05) . ** = (P <0.01) . The results showed the following: As for the eating habits has found that the average for each of the due Actual (food) - Agheirmtnolh meals - the amount of sugar in drinks (increase) - tea after a meal - the proportion of salt in the food (average) - basic pickles - favorite cooking method (Foundry) Juices - carbonated 126 summary 126 water - nuts - reuse oils - Zbek and reddening - the amount of salt (medium) - 3 tablespoons sugar - oriental sweets were percentages them respectively [73.3% - 13.3% -46.7% - 73.3% - 80% -80% -73.3% -6.7% - 86.7% - 86.7% - 86.7% - 86.7% - 100% - 60% - 60% - 46.7%] 8- has been conducting some tests and medical tests before and after taking the doses and treatment and evaluation included a physical examination, liver enzymes, bilirubin, renal function tests and complete blood picture and this protein Olvafiato monthly during the treatment period. The results showed the following: The relationship between liver functio test results and blood count before treatment and response of herbs. Showed statistically significant differences αFP or total bilirubin before the start of treatment with low-level and low bilirubin αFP are more likely to stabilize the disease. The results of the present study was to develop a median survival of free and times of survival generally was better in patients who showed a response as stability regard αFP or reduction (12 vs. 3 months and 16 versus 6 months, respectively) and this was statistically significant (p = 0.026 and 0.028, respectively). The survival also generally better in the patient without hepatitis C virus (16 vs. 6 months) was statistically significant . 121 summary 127 9 - abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and CT examination of the chest if suspected lung metastases. The bones were examined in the case of suspected malignant tumor in the bone. Status report: Male patient aged 58 years presented in 2010 proved that he has cancer of the liver lobe hepatic ISRO has been eradicated. After one year has a recurrence of the tumor and another began sorafenib targeted therapy for 5 months, and has been discontinued treatment due to disease progression. Gave us in 12/2012 with a cluster that already mentioned, and it has αFP 290 began using our herbs and two months after his αFP dropped to 139 and after another 2 months to 90 until I got to 38 after 8 months. CT showed a stabilization of the disease for 12 months. In 1/2014.. |
