The study tried to compare the Narrative Art in the works of Ibn „Irieshah (854 H.); namely, “Agueb Al - Maqdour Fi Nawa’b Taymour” “Fakehat Al - Kholafaa and Mufaqaht al - Zurafaa” and “Al - Taaleef Al - Taher Fi Shiyam Al - Malek Al - Zafer.” The study follows the Formalistic approach, in Narratology and Ironic Symbolic Narration. It also uses the Historic and Social Approach. It is composed of four chapters, an Introduction, and a Conclusion, followed by a Bibliography.
The introduction chapter on, “Ibn „Irieshah and the Narrative Art,” the study reached that Ibn „Irieshah lived in an age dominated by political unrest internally and externally. He gained wide knowledge from a trip through the Islamic World and wrote different kinds of narrative techniques. The objective biography of Taymour Lank in “Agueb Al - Maqdour Fi Nawaeb Taymour”; the short folkloric tale or fable narrated by animals like “Fakehat Al - Khulafaa and Mulaqahat Al - Zurafaa”; finally the journalistic story in “Al - Taaleef Al -Taher Fi Shiyam Al - Malek Al - Zafer.”
The most important findings in the first chapteris entitled “The Formalistic Elements of the Story.” The form in the three stories consists of five units: the title, the main plot, the frame, the sub plot, and the complex plot. Each one of these units has its roles, characteristics, and implications.
The second chapter entitled, “The Narrative and his Roles” reached the idea that Ibn Irieshah‟s works have four narrators; an external narrator, an internal one, a unanimous

narrator, as well as the author‟s voice. These narrators had the main roles to give shape and form to the narrative technique, giving a complete sense of narration.
The third chapter, “The character it‟s Role and Implications,” enumerates the different kinds of characters in the works of Ibn Irieshah from the realistic to fantasy characters, to the supernatural ones of Jinn and Devils. Each character reveals Ibn Irieshah‟s awareness of whether human, animal, or jinn, has its implications on his society, it‟s problems, and his art.
The fourth chapter entitled, “The Narrative Space” reveals the interrelation of the narrative spaces in times and place. Each narrative unit whether the frame, the sub plot, or the complex, one has a separate time and place from the other. Ibn „Irieshah was found to have used the times and place in his stories ironically and symbolically to give symbolic meanings giving depth to the work and helping it to remain unified and connected.
