Abstract

This study aimed to study the determinant of utilization of school health services provided to school children by family physician in urban and rural area through cross section study. Taha Hussien primary school in Shebine El-Kom and Meet Masoad primary school were selected through multistage random sample technique. The Taha Hussien primary school in Shebine El-Kom represented the urban area while Meet Masoad primary school represented rural area.
The chosen (200) children were in the final year in primary school and their main age was 11 years old to be more co-operative, the questionnaire was directed to children and their parents to get more accurate information and data. All children were utilizer of school health service but some of them choose unit and center as the 1st choice of health care whiles the other not.
As regard education level of father secondary level represented 38% in unit and 44%in center, were higher represented 24% and 50% of attendants in rural health unit and urban health center. As regard education level of mother secondary level represented 48% in unit and 41%in center, were higher represented 32% and 54% of attendants in rural health unit and urban health center.
In this study (74%) of children in rural area prefer 1ry health care and family health unit as 1st place for providing health care and about (10% ) of children prefer the hospital and (16%) of children prefer

private clinic. In urban area about (26%) of children prefer 1ry health center as 1st place for providing health care and about (27%) of children prefer the hospital and (47%) prefer private clinic.
In this study (30%) of urban participants reported that the service is unacceptable while in rural participants (15%) reported that. (56%) of participants reported that the services is good while in rural participants (63%) reported that. (14%) of urban participants reported that the services is very good service and (22%) of rural participants reported that.
As regard response of randomized attendants were as follow:
Response of attendants were significantly higher in rural family health unit than urban family center as regard methods of administration ,doctor and nurse dealing, closing door during examination, and pharmacological services. Dealing with dentist, availability of school health services and time of work in unit and center for them were higher in urban than rural one.
