Abstract

This experiment was done to investigate the response of cotton plants
to three planting dates at the main plot and some bio- regulators at sub main
plot. The experiment included 15 treatments arranged in split plot design
with three replications.
Planting dates
A- 15 April B- 30 April C- 15 May
Growth regulators
1) Control (tap water).
2) Salicylic acid at 100 ppm
3) Salicylic acid at 200 ppm
4) Uniconazole at 40 ppm
5) Uniconazole at 80 ppm
117 Second experiment: Effect of irrigation intervals
paclobutrazol and their interaction on cotton plants
This experiment was done to investigate the response of cotton plants
to three irrigation intervals at the main plot and paclobutrazol at sub main
plot. The experiment included 9 treatments arranged in split plotdesign with
three replications .The treatments were as follows:
Irrigation intervals.
A-Every 14 days B- Every 21 days C-Every 28 days
Growth retardant (Paclobutrazol)
1-Control (tap water)
2- Paclobutrazol (60 ppm)
3- Paclobutrazol (120 ppm)
Regarding the foliar treatment, cotton plants were sprayed with bio–
regulators salicylic acid at 100 or 200 ppm or uniconazole at (40 or 80 ppm)
in the first experiment, and foliar application of paclobutrazol at (60 or 120
ppm) in the second experiment. The concentrations were sprayed twice
firstly at the first of squaring, and the secondly at the beginning of
flowering. Studied characters
(A)- Growth attributes
1- Plant height / plant (cm) 2- No. of fruiting branches/plant.
