Abstract

Dietary proteins are ssential nutrients that the body uses for s nthesis of tissu protein and other metabol ic functions. They arc required for growth and provide th body with en r . The body also utilizes proteins from the di t for the pr duction of red blood cell 10 boo t th immune y tern, and for the formation of enzymes hormones and arious fluids and body secretions. Proteln can ’1.1 ed an nergy urce by con rernng amino ad I t glucos during aerobic exercise, but it is primarily used by the body to build and r pair tissue. Absen or inadequat intake of anyone of rh e”. entiat amino acidslead to metabolic disorder: , weight 10 s, impaired growth and clinical symptoms Lemon, 1998). efici ncie or di rturbances of nutrition C<lUS a variety of di ease and can arise in di fferent wa s. The amount of a particular nutrient inthe diet ma be insufficient 10 meet the requirements, the diet rna contain substances tha inactivate tile nutrient or inhibit its absorption utilization, or metabolism ma be upset by the interaction of dietary factors. Thus, oxidative stress (a del terious imbalance ben e n lit production and r mo al of reacti e oxygen/nitrogen species) plays a k y role in the pathogenesis of many diseases, including cane r kwashiorkor predominantly protein deficient) seizure, lzheimer’s disease Parkinson’s disease, sickl cell anemia, liver di ’ease, ystic fibrosis H1 AIDS, infection, heart attack stroke, and diab res, (Turree ,2003 . Rapid growth increases the metabolic rare of broiler lead to high significant increase in the generation of reacti e oxyg n species (ROS) in mitochondria ( aro 2002). >Reacti e oxygen species (RO are continuous! produced as a III tabolic products by irtually all tissues in relatively small amounts. All cells contain II numb r of di fferent nz malic and non enz malic antioxidants that ser e t.o pre nt or limil oxidati e tissue injury. The first. line of defens against oxidativ instill are lit antioxidant enzyrn s catalas glutathione peroxidase, and superoxide dismurase, The non enzymatic d. fenses include II variety of low.
