Abstract This study was carried out to investigate the potentiality of some bacteria, cyanobacteria and algae to treat sewage and industrial wastewater. The potentiality of reusing the treated wastewater for irrigation of economically important plants (cotton plant) was also achieved. Two different sites were selected for this study. Sites 1 located at the influent of Basssiun wastewater treatment plant. Sites 2 located in industrial region of EL-Mahalla El-kobra. All samples were taken from the sewage and industrial influent before treatment. The obtained results can be summarized in the following topics: l- Tested microorganisms: 1- Isolation and purification of bacteria: Twelve samples were obtained from four wastewater treatment plants in (Eldawakhliah in EL-Mahalla EL-Kobra, Bassiun, Kafr El-Zayat and Tanta) Elgharbia Governorat Egypt. Twenty two morphologically different bacterial isolates were selected as they were the most predominant colonies and were investigated to detect their ability to treat wastewater. The obtained results revealed that isolates no 6, 17, and 19 were the most potent in treatment of wastewater. |
