Abstract
The aim of this work is to study the reduction of low grade iron ores ( wadi el-shati, libya and baharia , Egypt) using the low price and locally produced fuel oil which also acts as a binder during pelletization of the iron ores. On the othr hand fuel oil confers high crushing strength to iron ore without prerequirment of purity at high temperatures. Pellets were made by mixin the iron ore fines with fuel oil (0-15% by weight) the dry pellets were indurated in either nitrogen or hydrogen atmosphere at 750- 1000
