Abstract

Salmonelosis is one of the important bacterial diseases affecting poultry and human .our study included 8 Salmonella strains were recoverd from 350 chicken with an overall incidence 2.29%.Serological identification of Salmonella strains revealed of S.Gallinarum ,S.Kentucky ,S.Enteritidis ,S.Rissen ,S.Virginia ,S.Infantis ,S.Liverpool and S.Enteritidis .Resistance of strains to nalidixic acid 67.65%.and 17.64% for norfloxacin and ofloxacin and 5.88% for ciprofloxacin and 2.94% for levofloxacin. The zone inhibition of the garlic extract was the heigher than others (yellow onion ,red onion ,rosemary and ginger ). PCR detection of virulence genes (all strains harbour invA gene , 21 strains harbour stn gene and 11 strains harbour pef gene . PCR detection of quinolone resistant strains Plasmid mediated quinolone resistance (qnr S, qep A and acc(6’) Ib- cr ).QRDR ( five strains were positive parC , one strain positive gyr B, and one strain positive gyr A (two bands). our study showing that the virulence gene decreased in quinolone resistant strains.
