Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of bearing down technique and uterine fundal pressure on maternal – fetal – outcome during 2nd stage of labor. Study tools: Five tools were used for data collection; structured interviewing questionnaire for mother, modified Pain observation scale, Likert scale, partograph, Apgare score for neonatal. The study revealed that, no sig differences were presented between 3 groups of the study sample regarding to their age, the present study reflect that there is a higher percentage (84 %) of regular uterine contraction in 2nd group compared to other groups with a significant difference. Recommendations of the study includes. To educate mother how to bear down during 2nd stage of labor. Further researches should be implemented to evaluate the other benefits of bearing down technique on maternal- fetal outcome.
