Abstract

This investigation was carried out at El-Gemmeiza Agricultural Research Station.Gharbia Governorate, during the two successive winter seasons of 2010/11 and 2011/12. Study the influence of different combinations of mineral and biological nitrogenous fertilizers on yield, yield component as well as quality for four flax genotypes was the main objective of this study.A split- plot design with three replications was used. The four flax genotypes(Line 22, Sakha 2, Sakha 3 and Giza 10) were randomly arranged in main plots and the six combinations of mineral and biological nitrogenous fertilizers were plotted in subplots. These Six fertilizer combinations were as follows:① Control Treatment (0 mineral nitrogen units and no soil inoculation with the mixture of the biofertilizers).① Zero (0) mineral nitrogen units + soil inoculation with the mixture of the biofertilizers, as a control treatment of the biofertilizers.① Fifteen (15) mineral nitrogen units (3.75 gm nitrogen/m2) + soil inoculation with the mixture of the biofertilizers.① Thirty (30) mineral nitrogen units (7.5 gm nitrogen/m2) + soil inoculation with the mixture of the biofertilizers.① Forty five (45) mineral nitrogen units (11.25 gm nitrogen/m2) + soil inoculation with the mixture of the biofertilizers.① Recommended treatment (45) mineral nitrogen units (11.25 gm Nitrogen/m2) without soil inoculation. The used mixture of biofertilizers was a mixture of two kinds of biofertilizers(Serialine and Nitrobein) which contains the N2 fixing bacteria and produced from(S.W. & E. R. I, ARC). Serialine is a mixture of two different nitrogen fixers of the genera Azotobacter and Azosprillium. Whereas, Nitrobein contains three different nitrogen fixers of the genera Azotobacter, Azosprillium and Bacillus. These two kinds of biofertilizers were mixed with sand with 1:1:5 ratios, the amount of biofertilizers was about 0.25 gm for each square meter, which is equal to 1 Kg of biofertilizers mixture per faddan. The addition of the mixture of biofertilizers with sand was prior sowing irrigation directly.
