Abstract Saving of primary fossil fuel energy with minimum environmental impact is the main goal for electrical power generation. Low grade waste heat utilization and new combustion technology are challenging tasks for researchers to achieve these objectives. Therefore, the present work is concerned with the integration of coal gasification system with a combined gas turbine and steam turbine power plant cycles accompany with ammonia-water cycle, which is known as kalian cycle. The gas turbine cycle, being distinguished by its higher upper limit of temperature for heat addition, is considered as the topping cycle. Meanwhile, the kalian cycle, being efficiently working with low grade heat addition, is considered as the outermost bottoming cycle. In the present study, elmaghara coal in north Sinai is used as the solid fuel for gasification. |
