Abstract By the turn of the last century, there has been major growth in researches interested in the biological approach in OCD(Piras etal,2013).Several impairment ranging from visuospatial skills to selective executive function have been reported. It has been suggested that memory impairment plays an important role in OCD as patients frequently express memory complaint, and one of the hall mark symptom of the condition is persistent doubt about the adequacy of previous actions despite their repetition (Penod’s et al., 2005). The aim of this work was: This study aimed to examine the different aspects of the cognitive impairment among patients with obsessive compulsive disorder and its relation to electroencephalographic changes.The review in this study include talking about the history of OCD from pharoses up to the end of twentieth century and diagnostic criteria of OCD in DSM –IV-TR and ICD 10, incidence, prevelance and treatment of OCD then we talked about cognitive impairement found in OCD in previous studies, then we talked about EEG changes found in OCD in previous studies. |
