Abstract

This study was conducted on the red swamp crayfish (procambarus clarkii) and the spiny lobster (panulirus longipes) as a one of crustacean that had a significant economic and biological importance. The present work was carried on ten samples of different weight of fresh water crayfish (procambarus clarkii) and six samples (about 300 gram of each) of spiny lobster (panulirus longipes). This study depended on various anatomical techniques like; examination of the exoskeleton, separation and description of the different parts of the exoskeleton, examination of the digestive system, injection of the digestive canal by gum latex and isolation of the digestive canal for histological examination. The body of the crayfish and the spiny lobster covered by a hard chitenious exoskeleton that divided the body into the cephalothorax and the abdomen. the cephalothorax was a fused cephalon and thorax covered by the carapace while the abdomen consisted of six segments connected with each other by membranous joints and the last abdominal segment forming the tail and the tail fan. This work composed of anatomical materials as photos, diagrams of the fresh water crayfish and the spiny lobster.
