Abstract

In recent year’s utilization of medical plant for treatment many diseases became a worldwide application. The scientists found it’s very safe and effective.
Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) is one of the spices and important medical plant for treatment hypercholesterolemia.
The present study aims to evaluate the possible protective and treated effect of ethanolic ginger extract as natural source for treatment cholesterol and lipids inhibitor and as antioxidant effectors.
To achieve this aim the following procedures was carried out:
1- Determination of the essential components of dried ginger rhizome powder.
2- Determination of minerals of ginger dried rhizome powder content.
3- Identification of the essential component in the ethanolic extracts of ginger using GC-MS.
Bi assay evaluation was done using 42 male albino rats weighing 170 - 190g. Rats were housed in separate metal cages under the same constant environmental and nutritional condition through the period of investigation. All rats were fed on normal diet for two weeks, then rats were divided randomly into six groups each group composed 7 rats for (8) weeks.
