Abstract Aviation law in the whole world imposes providing professional Cabin Crew onboard the flights. Their primary role is to ensure the safety of passengers in addition to comfort. They are responsible for the application of safety procedures before, during and after the flight in addition to administrating first Aid. A lot of Cabin Crew are affected by stresses. These Stresses could be resulting either from nature of the work itself or from the insufficiency of the administration such as injustice of work distribution or insufficient training for the Cabin Crew. A field study was conducted with cabin crew in three companies representing different types of airlines (Egypt Air-Scheduled, Air Arabia-Low cost, Air Cairo-Charter). A number of 157 questionnaires have been distributed to the mentioned airline companies, 66 in Egypt Air, 51 in Air Arabia, and 40 in Air Cairo. A number of 106 questionnaires were analyzed after excluding the invalid forms. The collected data have been classified and tabulated to be thoroughly analyzed through computer software. The necessary percentages have been calculated and the required repetitive tables were formed to satisfy one of the most important descriptive statistical techniques in identifying and defining the research variables and their repetition rates within the drawn sample. Results indicated that the majority of Cabin Crew members are affected by stresses. These Stresses could be resulting either from nature of the work itself or from the administrative behavior. Stresses are also differs from one airline to other according to the type of the airline. Work stress is a reason of poor performance of cabin crew. |
