The hearing is one of the most important human senses It is the window that overlooks them on the world voice around him and alarm him from the dangers in it, push him to be avoided, and without this sense can not understand his world and external adaptation, because hearing plays an important role in human.
Hearing disabilities is one of sensual disabilities that leave many negative effects on all aspects of the growth of the disabled and their personality, as imposed on them restrictions, especially in communication inhibit their agreement and use their public, abilities leading to the emergence of many behavioral problems, as rising behavioral problems have compared to their peers listeners, Social interaction and dis communication is considered one of the most common problems faced by children in general and a private hearing hand capped, especially at the elementary level.
The loss of a disabled acoustically to communicate with others leads him to loss many of the social skills that qualify for social interaction with them, raising of his feelings of isolation and psychological loneliness, and thus are in dire need of social support so that they can learn how to help them or partially on the coexistence in their communities, and to maintain the degree of interaction and communication with them.
from here researcher believes that the social support has important role in human life in general, no one of us do not need to support and assistance by others, If this is the feeling of the general people, this requirement will be the most important for a acoustically disabled person in particular, and this is why researcher to the preparation of the present study.
Problem of the study: -
Referred to the World Health Organization (WHO) that the five children out of every thousand newborn child have hearing loss. Which refers to the increasing number of deaf according to international estimates. Global and local efforts combine to provide special education services, whether academic community mental or their access to a degree of both regular and normality.
Social support plays an important role in the development of social communication in deaf children, hence problem of the study can be summarized in the following questions:
1 - Is there a correlation between social support as perceived by hearing impaired children and their social communication?
2 - Are there differences in the degree of perceived social support among deaf children according to sex (male - female)?
3 - Are there differences in the degree of social communication among deaf children according to sex (male - female)?
4 - Are there differences in the degree of perceived social support among deaf children depending on the degree of hearing (deaf - hearing impaired)?
5 - Are there differences in the degree of social communication among deaf children depending on the degree of hearing (deaf - hearing impaired)?
6- Is it possible to predict the level of social support in hearing impaired children through the level of social networking?
Objectives of the study: -
The study aims to:
1 - identify the nature of the relationship between social support as perceived by hearing impaired children and their social communication.
2 - to identify differences in the degree of perceived social support gender (male - female).
3 - Get differences in the degree of social communication between the sexes (male - female).
4 - Get differences in the degree of perceived social support among deaf children in terms of the degree of hearing (deaf - hearing impaired).
5 - Get differences in the degree of social communication among deaf children in terms of the degree of hearing (deaf - hearing impaired).
6- Get on the predictability of the level of social support in hearing impaired children through the grades in social communication.
The importance of the study: -
The importance of the present study:
1 - the importance of the age group: on the present study, a late childhood (9 - 12) years, which represents a significant proportion of education in Egypt.
2 - important objective: by addressing the perceived social support, and social communication in deaf children.
3 - systemic importance: in terms of comparative Relational approach, in order to determine the relationship between perceived social support and social networking and the differences between deaf children (male and female, and hard of hearing, deaf).
4 - the importance of the tools provided by measurement of perceived social support, and social communication.
5 - to benefit from the results of the study in the evaluation of the role that could be played by social support to the achievement of social communication in deaf children.
6 - can benefit from the results of the study in the construction of extension programs, which are based on improving social support to these children, including a positive impact on their social communication.
Hypotheses of the study: -
1 - There is a statistically significant correlation between social support as perceived by hearing impaired children and their social communication.
2 - There are statistically significant differences in the degree of perceived social support gender (male - female).
3 - There are statistically significant differences in the degree of social communication between the sexes (male - female).
4 - There are statistically significant differences in the degree of perceived social support among deaf children depending on the degree of hearing (deaf - hearing impaired).
5 - There are significant differences in the degree of social communication among deaf children depending on the degree of hearing (deaf - hearing impaired).
6- predicts the level of social support level of social communication in hearing impaired children.
The limits of the study: -
The present study is determined by followings: -
A - a sample of the study: -
Current study sample consists of the (160) of the children deaf from school AlAMal for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the cities of Zagazig Sharkia, and Banha Qalubia, aged (9 -12) year, average age of (10.72) years, and a standard deviation of $ (0.82 ), and the average level of socio-economic and cultural (54.60), and the standard deviation of (5.52), has been divided sample to:
hearing-impaired children, was (80) boys and, of (40) were male, and (40) female, has reached the degree of audio loss of hearing-impaired children between (56 - 70) DB.
deaf children, was (80), of (40) male, and (40) female, has reached the degree of loss of audio for deaf children (90) dB or more.
B - method and study tools: -
Study tools were used the following: -
For a method or approach was use of Relational comparative approach.
- Tools for the study are the following: -
1 - data collection sheet. (Prepared by the researcher).
2 - socio-economic and cultural level scale. (Preparation Hamdan fada, 1997).
3 - a measure of social support for hearing impaired children. (Prepared by the researcher).
4 – scale of social communication for hearing impaired children. (Prepared by the researcher).
C - statistical methods used in the study: -
The researcher in the statistical analysis of data from the current study on the following statistical methods: -
1 - Mean.
2 - standard deviation.
3 - Pearson correlation coefficient.
4 - (T) test.
Through statistical software package for Social Sciences and known by its acronym SPSS .
Results of the study: -
The current study found the following results: -
1 - There was a positive correlation of statistical significance between perceived social support and social communication on all dimensions at the level (01.0).
2 - The presence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of males and females of deaf children in favor of males in social support as college grade and sub-dimensions, all of which are statistically significant at level (0.01).
3 - There were statistically significant differences between the of males and females deaf children in favor of males in social communication as college grade and sub-dimensions, all of which are statistically significant at level (0.01).
4 - There were significant differences between the hearing impaired and deaf children favor of hearing impaired children in social support such as regard degree college and dimensions subsidiary, which is statistically significant family, friends and the total score at the level (0.01), and function in after teachers at (0.05).
5 - There were significant differences between the hearing impaired and deaf children in favor of hearing impaired children in social communication as the degree college and dimensions subsidiary, which is statistically significant in concern family, friends and the total score at the level (0.01), and function in after teachers at level (0.05).
6- predicts the level of social support level of social communication in hearing impaired children at the level of significance (0.01).
