Abstract The thesis comprises three main chapters: , Chapter (I). This chapter includes.literature survey on the coordination chemistry of l,2,4-triazine derivatives in addition to their analytical uses and biological activity. Chapter (11). This chapter describes the procedures used for the preparation of the organic compounds; APyDPT (LI), FDPT (L2), TDPT (L3) and their metal complexes. The different instruments used to characterize the isolated compounds such as: molar conductivity, room temperature magnetic susceptibility, mass, IHNMR, UV / vis., IR and ESR spectra are reported. The measurements of the biological activity of some of these compounds are reported. Chapter (Ill). This chapter comprises the results obtained and their discussion. It consists of five parts. The first part includes the mass, IHNMR spectral data• and the elemental analysis of the organic compounds. The results obtained showed characteristic data consistent with the assumed stoichiometry and molecular structures. The second part deals with the spectral and magnetic studies of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of APyDPT (Ll). The IR data suggested that APyDPT (LI) acted as a neutral tridentate chelating agent 111 [LICoCh], [LI2CO]Ac2.4H20, [L\Co](CI04)2.2H20, |
