Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a group of diseases characterized by a defect in insulin secretion and increased cellular resistance to insulin, insulin elevated plasma glucose levels. So, this study aimed to study the effect different levels of some available spices as cinnamon and ginger to reduce the level of blood glucose of female albino rats which induced alloxan. This study was carried out using 3%, 6%, 9%cinnamon, and 3%, 6% and 9% ginger which are commonly used in Egypt. * The study was carried out as follows: Rats were divided into 8 groups 5 rats in each group fed several diets for 28 days as follows: - Control (-): group of rats fed on basal diet as a negative control. - Control (+): group of diabetic rats fed on basil diet as positive control. - Group 1: group of diabetic rats fed on basil diet containing 3% |
