Abstract

The preceding review of available literature leads to make the following conclusions: o Marshall mix design not solving many problem in asphalt like rutting, crack but in The new Superpave binder tests measure physical properties that can be related directly to field performance by engineering principles. Each of these new tests will be described in detail later in this text., the key detail is that the Superpave tests characterize asphalt at a wide range of temperatures and ages. Superpave characterizes them at the actual pavement temperatures that they will experience, and at the periods of time when the asphalt distresses are most likely to occur.
