Abstract

This paper tackles the phenomenon of the quest of freedom. It deals with two American novels. Their main theme is searching the freedom of the protagonist and his followers. The researcher compares between them ,and discusses other themes in the two novels. The first chapter deals with the meaning of freedom from different aspects. It also comments on the quest of freedom in American society. The last part of the first chapter deals with the hinder ships that block the road to freedom. The second chapter is centered on the search for freedom it). the first novel; Freedom Train. The third chapter focuses on the search for freedom in Seductive Poison. The fourth chapter compares between the two novels regarding the achievement of the main theme; the search for freedom and the techniques of the two novels. The fourth chapter shows the victory of the Afro-American heroine over the Jewish American heroine as for freedom seeking for herself . and her followers. It also shows the hollow beliefs of the American nation. It reflects the contradictory life in America over the political, social, and economic conditions. The conclusion sums up the findings of the whole thesis. It sums the idea of freedom and the meaning of freedom. It shows the hollow beliefs of the American society.
