Abstract Iron deficiency anemia is relatively frequent complications of nephrotic syndrome. The current study was done to study some haematological parameters and haemostatic function in children with nephrotic syndrome and to correlate between changes of these parameters and activity of the disease. The children included in this study were classified into 2groups. Group I: Included 30 nephrotic children they were investigated during the active proteinuric stage of the disease. Group II: Includes 15 apparently healthy children as controls. All subject underwent thorough history taking, physical examination and laboratory investigations in the form of complete blood count, serum albumin, serum iron, serum transferrin and urinary transferrin. In comparison between the two studied groups regarding platelets count, WBCs and Hb, serum albumin, serum iron , serum transferrin and urinary transferrin statistically significant differences were present between groups I, II The mean platelet count and WBCs were significantly higher in the disease group than in the control group (P <0.001⃰ |
