Abstract

• The results indicated that the plant height increased by increasing plant spacing in the first season, however, this increment was significant in two seasons.
• The effect of depth of planting was significant for this character of the depth of (3cm) produced the highest plant height (51.58cm) in the second season.
• The different combination of interaction between the studied factors succeed to show significant effect on this trait in both (2007/2008 and 2008/2009) seasons. The highest of plant height was detected when using (7.5cm) spacing with depth (3cm) in the second season, but the lowest of plant height (34.16 cm) was detected when using (5.5cm) spacing with depth (3cm) in the first season.
2- NUMBER OF LEAVES PER PLANT
• The result was insignificant in both seasons Influence plant spacmg.
• The effect of depth planting was insignificantly, however the number of leaves per plant was increased by increasing depth planting in both seasons.
• Different combination of interaction between the studied factors were insignificantly affected the number of leaves per plant, in both seasons 2007/2008 and 2008/2009.
3- BULB LENGTH
• The results of bulb length were significantly and increased by increasing plant spacing in the first season The highest of the bulb length was (11.21 cm) with using (5.5cm spacing) in the second season.
