Abstract 1- With increasing numbers and types of immunocompromised patients, clinicians must maintain a high index of concern for fungal and parasitic infections of the CNS. 2- Given the nonspecific disease pattern of invasive CNS fungal infection, the pursuit of a specific diagnosis is important and often requires a lumbar puncture or brain biopsy. 3- By defining the specific infecting organism, targeted antifungal or antiparasitic therapy can be used. |
