Abstract The present study was carried out on (18)Barki sheep and (15)adult EgyptianBaladi goats to provide the normalultrasonographic and laparoscopicanatomy of some abdominal organs and to assess the feasibility of laparoscopy for cystotomy, ovariectomy and to compare the feasibility of ultrasound-guided liver biopsy with the laparoscopic one. Following preparation of animals, equipment and instruments the primary port and laparoscope was placed on the umbilicus and secondary instrumental ports were placed according to the surgical objective. The obtained results revealed that ultrasonography and laparoscopy are minimally invasive technique that permits the observation of the abdominal organs and diagnostic biopsy in sheep and goats. Ultrasonography allowed an echo of the different abdominal organs according to their nature while the laparoscopic equipment allowed a live picture of the inside of the abdominal cavity. Laparoscopic surgery is an easy and practical in veterinary field if the surgeon is mastered the technique. |
