Abstract assess clinical and radiographic success of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) Angulus versus Portland cement (PC) in pulpotomy of primary molars.Methods, Design: split mouth, double-blinded equality, Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). Sample size: 31 pairs of lower primary molars (calculated using sealed envelop.com) of outpatient clinic of Pediatric dentistry department- Cairo University - Egypt. Mean age of participants: 5.3 years. Randomization was done using closed white envelops. Interventions: conventional pulpotomy technique, direct application of capping material, filling rest of cavity with Zincinol and preformed stainless steel crown at single visit then immediate periapical radiographs as base line record. Follow up: 12- month [only 20 pairs finished follow up]. Out-comes: 1ry: sinus or swelling, excessive mobility& spontaneous pain, 2ry: external or internal root resorption& periapical or furcation radioleucency,. Follow-up x-rays assessed by 2 blinded pre-calibrated radiologists (strength of their agreement was considered to be “good” [Kappa =0.675]). Statistical analysis: using SPSS program. |
