Abstract Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of unknown etiology, characterized by T cell infiltrates and epidermal thickening, due to hyperproliferation of KCs . T cell activation and the productionof pro-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors are some of the underlying mechanisms for epidermal proliferation characteristic of Ps . Human papilloma virus genotypes cause widespread inapparent infection in the general population and it has been suggested that theHPV5 may contribute to the pathogenesis of psoriasis. On the other hand HPV is an opportunistic virus found mainly in patients with immunosuppression including those under UV sessions as a line of Ps treatment. |
