Abstract
The aim of the study isto assess knwledge and attittude of nurses wrking in fmily planing towads surgical contraceptin.A random sample off 200 nurses working in different family planning clinlces MCH centers 40 and meternity hospital 120 wrer selected.Data were collected through individual interviews according to a preesigned interview schedule sheet.

The majority of nurses were moslems 96% their age ranged from 18-45 years with a mean 27.15 almost one half of them 52% were married
The duration of their marrige ranged from 2.26 years with a mean 8.27 and their praity ranged from 1-6 with a mean number of deliveries 1.61.
