Abstract
Aphids are considered one of the most important pests in the world. In
Egypt, aphids have an economic importance especially the bean aphids, Aphids
fabae, because they infest a wide variety of crop plants. The use of natural
chemicals ”semiochemicals” specially ”kairomones” is the modem technique to
regulate the population and behaviour of insects. The aphid-kairomone may
have powerful biological activity and could be a valuable tool in the aphid-pest
control. The present study aims to throw light on the chemical and biological
characteristics of the aphid-kairomone.
