Abstract
Blue green algae (cyanobacteria) are able to fix nitrogen in the soil, therefore, it can be used as a biofertilizer specially in the soils cultivated with rice plants. viruses which infect cyanobacteria (cyanophages) are considered one of the factors affecting cyanobacteria because they cause cell lysis.
