Abstract This report defining and explains different sensor techniques and how to use these techniques to measure the variable process such as: temperature, pressure, flow and level. This report consists of five chapters • Chapter one: Seniors technology It presents an example about different sensors technology such as capacitive and resistive sensors, magnetic sensors etc. • Chapter two: Temperature measurement It explains the principles of temperature measurement, and give an example about different method of measuring temperature such as thermocouple, varying resistance device, semiconductors etc. and how to choose between these different methods. • Chapter three: Pressure measurement It presents definition of pressure and gives an example about different method of measuring pressure such as diaphragm, bellows etc. and how to choose between these different methods. • Chapter five: Level measurement • Chapter four: Flow measurement It explains difference between mass flow and volume flow and methods of measuring each type and how to choose between these different methods. It explains different method of measuring level such as float, pressure etc. and how to choose between these different methods. • Chapter sex: A case study It introduces a practical case study for selection of a flow element according to a given process data. |
