Abstract Egyptian viruses of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 virus of seventeen isolates were collected during the period between 2006-2011 from backyards and farm, and RNA segment 7 of these strains were sequenced consisting the open reading frames of the two matrix proteins M1 and M2. M1 has a role in regulation of nuclear export of viral ribonucleoproteins and the budding process during viral replication, where M2 has a ion channical activity; uncoating and assembly. |
