Abstract The primoridia of the mullerian duct was firstly appeared in five day old chick embryo in the form of a cellular swelling derived from the coelomic epithelium dorsolateral to the wolffian duct. Such primoridia was sinking in the underlying mesenchyma in six day old chick embryo and it was being to be canalized in 7-8 day old chick embryos and it was built- up of a single cell layer of cuboidal cells enclosing a narrow annular lumen and invested by mesenchymal condensation in chick embryo of 9-10 days-old. During the pre-laying period, the mucosal folds became voluminous and radiated ,occluding the lumen, they were long, flexuous like whips of jelly-fish in infundibulum, obelisk-like in magnum, corrugated leaf-like in isthmus and uterus, corrugated intersected leaf-like in vagina. The non-ciliated secretory cells During start of the laying periods, the oviduct attained the mature constructive pattern all over its length. The non-ciliated secretory epithelium gave intense PAS reaction at the magnum, isthmus and vagina but faint reaction at the infundibulum and uterus. As well such cells gave intense AB reaction at the magnum and vagina but negative at infundibulum, isthmus and uterus. Also the subepithelial tubular glands gave intense PAS and negative AB reactions allover the length of the duct. |
