Abstract Culex pipiens (L.) ie the most abundant mosquito in the Nile Valley and the Delta, breed in all sorts of water (Gad and Salit, 1972; Shalaby, 1972; Arafa and Salit, 1973; El-Said, 1974 and Sadek 1975). The gonotrophic cycle of mosquitoes are complex, and various biological aspects such as mating, feedi.ng and oviposition must be included in any study. A complete understanding of the cycle is necessary not only to derive the exterinsio cycle of disease transmission or to estimate the survival rate from the parous rate but also, to detezmine the reproductive potentiality of any population (Laurence, 1963 and Samarawickrema, 1967). |
