Abstract
This study was carried out to determine some pollutants level of ground
water used in some poultry farm and evaluate their effects on broiler
chick’s performance and some immune parameters. It was found that the
bird’s performance when exposed to drinking water containing TDS
≥3000 mg/l (4375 mg/l) was affected in form of decreased body weight
and increased mortalities. The effect was less pronounced at 35th days as
compared to 21st days. Chicks received heavy metals showed subtle effect
on immune response and no effect on performance. Our results concluded
that heavy metals levels found are still safe for poultry production.
